What is recorded here
Mentioned in an old Ordnance Survey memoir but never pinpointed, the stone or stones may still stand buried under bracken, farm lane or forgotten field. The survey recorded the place without finding it, turning a local landmark into an absence. Anyone walking White Mountain carries that gap with them, wondering which path leads to the stone and which story the stone was holding when the survey passed it by.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE(S) (O.S. memoir site, unlocated). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
