A hachured area marked on the 1930 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and named 'Quarry (Disused)' on the OS 25-inch plan, proved on inspection in 1984 to consist of a large roughly oval-shaped depression, the base of which was water filled. Probably of 19th/20th century date.
