Pole-mounted cast-iron box pox, c.1940, with P&T emblem. Round-headed box with rectangular letter slot and display panel.
Simple and functional in form, the Celtic Revival script of the P&T monogram adds artistic interest to this post box. It serves as a reminder of a time when the State utilised traditional Gaelic motifs to demonstrate the new identity of post Independence Ireland.
