Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, erected c. 1935, with raised P&T initials. Set into roughcast rendered wall.
This cast-iron post box is an attractive, subtle item of street furniture representing an early-surviving form of mass-produced cast-iron work. The raised detailing is of artistic interest, alluding to the Celtic Revival style and representing the continued promotion of a national identity within the emergent independent state.
