Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, c.1940, with P&T and manufacturer’s insignia. Rectangular letter slot and display panel. Set into boundary wall at cross roads.
Simple and functional in form, the Celtic Revival script of the P&T monogram adds artistic interest to this post box. It serves as a reminder of a time when the State utilised traditional Gaelic motifs to demonstrate the emerging identity of post Independence Ireland.
