Polpeor Lifeboat Station was established in the 19th century to serve the dangerous coastline of north Cornwall, particularly the area around the treacherous rocks of Polpeor Cove. It was connected to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and played a vital role in rescuing sailors and fishermen from shipwrecks in the region.
