What is recorded here
Lizard Lighthouse, established in 1753, is the oldest lighthouse in Cornwall and was originally built to guide ships around the dangerous Lizard Peninsula. It is connected to the history of maritime navigation and the South Western Lighthouse Service, and the Heritage Centre now educates visitors on its role in coastal safety and local maritime heritage.
