Likely dating to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, the Pipers Stones may have functioned as a ceremonial or ritual gathering place, possibly aligned with seasonal or astronomical events. Local folklore sometimes associates such stone circles with ancient pipers or supernatural beings, though specific traditions for this site are not recorded.
