What is recorded here

Annotated 'Patrick's Well' on the 1837 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Located at a kink in a field boundary at a relatively high point within Robswalls Park. This natural spring well, known as St Patrick's well, has been incorporated into a field ditch which is very overgrown. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Updated by: Christine Baker Date of upload: 17 January 2015
Linked to St Patrick, the well is traditionally associated with healing and pilgrimage, common attributes of early Christian holy wells in Ireland. Such sites often incorporated pre-Christian sacred landscapes, reflecting a fusion of native and Christian traditions.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
