Situated on gentle SSE facing slope near the top of a prominent hill in grassland, with extensive views of the surrounding countryside. Ringfort (WM012-113----) 200m to SE. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as an oval-shaped enclosure annotated as a ‘fort’. This site has been levelled. All that remains is a semi-circular shaped depression, which corresponds to that depicted on the 1944 ed. OS 6-inch revision map. Outline of levelled monument visible as a cropmark on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011.
