Ollie Cahill

Clonmel, County Tipperary, gave Oliver Cahill life on 29 September 1975 and later handed him his first football identity through Clonmel Town. That small town launched a left winger who carried Ireland across England and back through Cork, Dublin and Drogheda, collecting five league titles before hanging his boots in 2011. The distance his body travelled makes the birthplace sound like the edge of a rope rather than a line on a page.
