Ogham Stones

Two ogham stones are built into the remnants of a wall at the cemetery of Cill Tire at Dromore (WA029-042002-). This stone (slate, 1.3 x 0.41 x 0.25m converted from Macalister 1945) was first recorded by Power (1909b, 79) as MEDUSI MACI LU and subsequently by Macalister (1935b, 11; 1945, 263-4, no. 267) as MEDUSI MACI LU on one angle, with MUCOI LUGA as a correction on another angle. (Moore 1999, no. 1486) This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
