What is recorded here

One of seven ogham stones at Killeen Cormac, Colbinstown, County Kildare, was broken and rebuilt into the burial ground wall before Macalister recorded it in 1945. Its surviving fragment still carries MAQI-DDEC[CEDA] MAQI MARIN, read as of Mac-Deichet son of Marinus. The stone now stands in the National Museum of Ireland, pulled from a local wall yet still speaking a name that once belonged to the earth beside it.

One of seven ogham stones (KD032-044001- to KD032-044007-) recorded by Macalister (1945, 24-5 (20 – No. II)) at 'Killeen Cormac' burial ground (KD032-044----). It consists of a fragment of a stone that had, apparently, been broken up and re-used in the construction of the burial ground’s enclosing wall. He recorded the inscription: MAQI-DDEC[CEDA] MAQI MARIN. The stone is now in the National Museum of Ireland (DU018-360----). This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, where the inscription is translated: 'of Mac-Deichet son of Marinus'.
