What is recorded here

Five-arch road bridge spanning Ilen River, built c.1820. Rubble limestone construction with segmental arches having voussoirs and keystones. Rubble stone squared piers, V-cut waters with stepped detail, string courses and parapets with upright copings.
This road bridge displays skilled local craftsmanship, well executed stone work and attention to detail, apparent in the arches, voussoirs and string courses. It is an essential modern transport link, as well as an insight into nineteenth bridge building in rural Ireland.
