What is recorded here
Detached single-storey former gate lodge c. 1820, now in use as a house. Pebble dashed southern wall with two fixed light timber windows in lancet openings, forming flanking screen wall of gateway. Single-bay lodge within, with roughcast rendered walls, glazed timber door having brick surround, and pitched slate roof with decorative bands. Original building extended by the addition of a replica range to the north. Further flat-roofed extensions beyond.
Though the gate lodge itself is quite a modest structure, the façade it presents to the street is most engaging, adding much character to the narrow road.
