Detached four-bay two-storey over basement country house, built c.1800, having flat-roofed single-storey addition to rear (north). Hipped slate roof with timber clad overhanging eaves, rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with rendered plinth throughout, having platband above basement level. Diminishing square-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills throughout, having uPVC casement windows to front (south) elevation. Six-over-six, nine-over-six, six-over-four and six-over-three pane timber sliding sash windows to rear and side (east, west) elevations. Round-headed stairwell window opening with stone sill to rear elevation, having eight-over-twelve pane timber sliding sash window with decorative fanlight. Oculus window opening to rear elevation, having decorative spoked window. Round-headed door opening with tooled limestone doorcase to side (west) elevation, comprising engaged Ionic columns surmounted by frieze and moulded cornice, with archivolt having tooled limestone voussoirs. Glazed timber door with decorative spoked fanlight and limestone stepped approach with cast-iron hand rails. Recessed round-headed door opening with timber panelled door and fanlight to rear (north) elevation. Square-headed door opening to south elevation, having replacement uPVC door and dressed rubble stone perron with wrought-iron railings. U-plan outbuilding arranged around gravel surfaced courtyard to south. East range comprising seven-bay two-storey block. Hipped slate and pitched corrugated-iron roofs with rubble limestone eaves course and chimneystack. Roughcast rendered and exposed rubble limestone walls. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills having remains of timber frames and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening with red brick voussoirs having timber battened door. Round-headed integral carriage way opening. North range comprising nine-bay two-storey block with central bellcote flanked by integral carriage way openings. Hipped corrugated-iron roof with rendered eaves course. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with limestone and replacement concrete sills having remains of timber frames and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door openings with timber battened doors. Round-headed carriage way openings with partially exposed limestone voussoirs. West range comprising six-bay two-storey block with central integral carriage way opening. Hipped slate and corrugated-iron roof with timber clad and exposed rubble limestone eaves course, roughcast rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills and partially exposed yellow brick voussoirs having six-over-six and six-over-three pane timber sliding sash windows and occasional timber casement replacements. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door. Round-headed carriage way opening with double-leaf timber battened doors. Located within own extensive grounds.

Located overlooking the River Lee this finely proportioned house is set on a picturesque site. It has maintained much of its historic character through the retention of original fabric including the hipped slate roof, round-headed and occulur windows, elegant timber sliding sash windows and carved limestone doorcase. The substantial associated outbuildings add to its setting and context.
