What is recorded here

Detached three-bay split-level former flax mill on the Drowes River, built c.1800, with external water wheel to south. Pitched slate roof. Random coursed stone walls. Modern lean-to extensions to north and east.
This former flax mill at the Mullanaleck mill complex is obscured by modern extensions. However the structure survives, as does the water wheel. The mill is an interesting reminder of the industrial activity that was once associated with this area. The former millrace and related outbuildings and cottages enhance the setting and context of the former mill and contributes to its significance.
