What is recorded here
Mound in Woodlands East rises four and a half metres beside Woodlands House, perhaps an old ringfort disguised as a garden feature. Its smooth summit spans eleven metres, inviting footsteps and imagination rather than certain history. The land may have worn away every mark that would have proven its age, leaving only shape and presence behind.
Prominent circular hillock (H. c. 4.5m; summit diam. 11m) within view of the rear of Woodlands House. It may be a platform ringfort modified for use as a landscape feature but no definite indications of an antiquity are visible.
