A flat topped circular mound (diam c. 14m, H c. 2m) with a circular depression (W c. 4.7m, d c. 0.5m) at the top. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. Neolithic passage tomb; dates to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. Its flat-topped form and central depression suggest ritual or funerary use typical of early Irish megalithic traditions.
