(k) Mound: Located close to the W bank of the river, directly opposite the fulacht fiadh (i), this irregularly-shaped mound measures c. 8m in diameter x a maximum of 1.15m in height. It appears to be composed of earth and is revetted on its E side by a few boulders. It may be a partly natural feature. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
