Freestanding cut-limestone Celtic High Cross-style monument, dated 1940, on inscribed cut-limestone stepped base. Set on landscaped plot on a corner site with timber posts to perimeter supporting cast-iron chains.
A monument '[recalling] the memory of the Reverend Fathers JOHN MURPHY [1753-98] MICHAEL MURPHY [c.1767-98] & PHILIP ROCHE [d. 1798] & of their fellow leaders & followers who defeated British Army at Tubberneering [sic] & Clough [sic]'.
