What is recorded here

Freestanding circular-plan windmill, built c. 1800. Random coursed limestone walling. Square-headed window openings and door openings to east and west, stone relieving arch to door openings. Located on a rising to the north of Termonfeckin.
The surviving base of this windmill is a reminder of past industrial practices when natural resources, in this instance wind, were employed in milling. Buildings such as this are becoming rare in the Irish countryside, further increasing the importance of this well-built structure.

The Old RectoryRectory/glebe/vicarage/curate's house · 485 yd

Explorer Tom The Old Rectory has a family tree that is mostly just three windows and a lot of silence. It sits next to the church looking all proper and tripartite. Visit, then text me what the vicar said about your hair today.

Explorer Tom Rath House tells its younger self to stop slouching and straighten that Venetian doorway. The central breakfront is an elegant entrance bay that doesn’t mess around. Best enjoyed with a glass of wine on the porch, admiring the symmetry.

Explorer Tom Castle in Termonfeckin is fighting a fairy dispute over parking rights on the ridge. The fairies say the driveway is sacred, which is nonsense. Bring a coin for luck and keep it in your pocket.

Explorer Tom Battlefield near Sheephouse has developed a deep suspicion of the postman, likely due to all the letters never delivered. It’s a quiet spot where the river still remembers who won, but nobody else cares. Have a wander and a wonder.

Explorer Tom Pedunculate Oak in County Meath says there’s a curse on anyone who doesn’t wave to it first. It’s got long acorns and an even longer memory for rudeness from passersby. Go now, before it gets famous.
