What is recorded here
The Books of Survey and Distribution for Co. Roscommon, describe at Glooria a `Pasture full of rushes upon which standeth a ruinated Castle and a mill' (Simington 1949, 146). The mill was not encountered, but like the castle it may be in Ballynahoogh (RO010-033----) which is the townland immediately to the E of Glooria.
