Mill

Mill, unclassified

What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) Thomas Codd possessed 391 acres in Garrylough and Killelinroth (Killelan) townlands in St. Nicholas’ parish as well as two ruined mills and a stone house (Simington 1953, 61). A corn-mill is marked on the 1839 and 1924 eds of the OS 6-inch map at the E edge of Garrylough Lower. The present building was erected in 1851 and contains fabric of the earlier structure (http://www.buildingsofireland.ie/ (04-09-2012), but it cannot be confirmed that any of it dates from the 17th century.
