The first claim that Reennafardarrig Island holds a megalithic tomb came through a human witness, not a survey line. That is enough to keep the idea alive. Whether the stones marked a burial, a shelter or a small altar still belongs to the sea and memory.

The Minute Book of the Co. Kerry Field Club (Vol. 1, 299) records ‘a stone altar’ on the island. The exact location of the possible megalithic tomb was not recorded and it may be referring to the remains of a hut site (KE019-001001-). Compiled by: Matt Kelleher Date of upload: 19 December 2013
