Megalithic structure in Ardaturrish More

On a flat-topped knoll with fine views overlooking Glengarriff Harbour. This possible structure is incorporated in a townland boundary. It comprises a large boulder (1.7m x 1.5m; T 0.5m) straddling the boundary wall and a single supporting upright stone on its S side. The structure rests at an angle against the wall which suggests that it predates the wall. The monument cannot be classified with certainty and the possibility that it may be a glacial erratic that has been artificially propped cannot be excluded. An unclassified megalithic tomb (CO105-057----) is located 2m to the S. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
