What is recorded here
Detached four-bay two-storey former Methodist manse, built c.1880, now in domestic use. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and roof lights. Ruled-and-lined render to street elevation with stucco quoins. Roughcast render to side elevations. Replacement uPVC windows with concrete sills. Replacement timber door to north elevation. House is set back slightly from the street, bounded by cast-iron railings to front on cut stone plinth with wrought-iron entrance gate to cut stone piers.
This former manse forms a socially important group with the neighbouring Methodist church. Its modest façade complements the more embellished church. The ornate yet subtle cast-iron crafted piers enhance the setting of the structure.
