What is recorded here

Under the Tullig ringfort, a hidden chamber waited for years until Nash closed it with stone. Broker recorded the act in 1937, capturing the moment human hands answered mystery with walls rather than wonder. The exact spot has vanished, but the choice remains: to deny the underground room instead of asking what it wanted to show.
In ringfort (8607). Broker (1937, 50) recorded an 'underground chamber closed in by Nash late owner'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
