Mud and memory collided when excavators broke through the northern percolation area, exposing an unroofed passage that breathed through a hidden air vent. It lay beside Early Christian burials, a kiln and a furnace, suggesting a busy landscape where the dead, the makers and the unseen shared one ground. The hole did not smell of rot but of rain and iron, as if the earth had been holding its breath since before records began.

Discovered during the construction works associated with a new dwelling (Excavation Licence No. 04E1559). (Excavation Licence No. 04E1559). A length of an unroofed Man-made underground passage with an air-vent was uncovered in the percolation area of the property to the N of the house under construction. Found alongside an Early Christian burial ground (LH008-121----), a second Man-made underground passage (LH008-124----), a kiln (LH008-123----), a furnace (LH008-126----) and a number of pits.
