No reliable evidence supports the claim that Mary, Mother of Jesus, visited Ireland. The story repeats a banned claim about Jesus and invents a journey for Mary. It also misreads the church teaching about the Assumption. The Assumption means Mary was taken body and soul into heaven after her earthly life. It does not say she flew to Ireland or appeared in County Louth.
