Under the field called Pairc a Teampaill in Nohaval Lower, a hidden chamber waits beneath the old round tower site. Bowman measured it in 1934: seven feet long, four feet wide, five feet high, with dry stone walls and a ceiling of heavy slabs. It has no entrance, no marker, no shadow on the ground above. The chamber may have stored church goods, hidden people during storm or war, or simply tested the patience of everyone who walked past it.

Bowman (1934, 663) recorded an underground chamber under site of round tower (CO038-00101-) in field called 'Pairc a Teampaill...the size of the chamber is about 7 feet long 4 feet wide and 5 feet high. The sides are lined with dry stone work. The top is covered with large stone slabs'. No visible surface trace. Within possible early ecclesiastical site (CO038-00105-).
