Man-made underground passage in Loughmarsh

Discovered 1981. Six earth-cut chambers arranged at right angles to each other and joined by creepways. Chamber 1: L 4.3m; Wth 1.4m. Chamber 2: L 3.3m; Wth 1.3m; H 1.1m. Chamber 3: L 2.9m; Wth 1.5m; H 1m. Chamber 4: L 3m; Wth 1.2m; H 1.1m. Chamber 5: L 4.1m; Wth 1.1m; H 0.8m. Chamber 6: L 2m; Wth 0.8m; H 0.8m. Annexe (L 0.8m; Wth 1m) at NNE end chamber 1. Construction shafts in annexe and chambers 2, 3, 5 and 6. Possible air vent chamber 4. Original entrance chamber 5 and possible second entrance chamber 6. (Cleary 1981, 38-40).
