Laharan (duhallow By.) holds a collapsed underground passage beneath its ringfort, marked only by a shallow depression two metres west of the centre. People may have dug through solid earth to create a hidden room for storage, worship or escape when storms and enemies closed the sky. The soil swallowed the entrance, but it did not erase the purpose.

In centre of ringfort (CO041-01001-). Depression c. 2m W of centre may indicate presence of collapsed Man-made underground passage.
