What is recorded here
In SW quadrant of ringfort (CO041-01101-). The OS Field Book of 1840 recorded 'in the S. side of it there is an entrance to several subterraneous apartments' (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 3, 334). Several depressions in SW quadrant may indicate position of collapsed chambers.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
