Knocknageeha West hides a man-made chamber eight metres from the ringfort bank, small enough to crouch inside but wide enough to reveal creepways stretching north and south. The southern passage collapsed around 1982, blocking one route and leaving the northern way uncertain. The chamber may have served as a refuge, a treasury or a ceremonial space, yet its true purpose remains buried beneath the lost chamber and forgotten hands.

In NW quadrant of ringfort (CO030-07501-), c. 8m from bank. Opening revealed chamber (1.05m E-W; 1.2m N-S; D 1m) with creepways to further chambers to N and S. According to local information, southern chamber collapsed c. 1982. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
