Man-made underground passage in Kenmare

In woodland, on a SE-facing outcropping rock close to the N shore of the inlet extending W from Kenmare bay. The Man-made underground passage consists of a chamber (L 5.2m; Wth c. 1m) which slopes down to the S from the entrance. The sides of the chamber are vertical and appear to be cut from the natural rock. The roof is lintelled and has some packing-stones. Debris at the S end of the chamber appears to have fallen through a small opening. There is a rath (KE093-099001-) on the opposite shore of the inlet.
