Island (duhallow By.) holds a man-made underground passage inside a ringfort. Bowman recorded a shallow depression on the south part, measuring seven metres north-south and eight point eight metres east-west, with a depth of one point one metres. The passage may have hidden people, tools or memory from storm and invasion. Its shape still fits the land like a forgotten room.

In ringfort (CO022-100---). According to Bowman (1934, 177), 'depression on the south part, shows site of Man-made underground passage'. Depression (7m N-S; 8.8m E-W; D 1.1m) noted inside inner bank at SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
