Man-made underground passage in Gurteen North — Report the wrong picture

Death and darkness are certain for everyone, but most people waste life on fear, complaint and fantasy. An underground chamber marked only by a rectangular stone boundary may have denied that waste by forcing people to confront the end without decoration. If so, the chamber was not a prison of despair but a teacher of clarity, showing that less illusion means more conscious life.

Univallate ringfort KE044-118---- is located in the S corner of the triangle of land isolated by the Dingle to Anascaul, Dingle to Castlemaine and Anascaul to Castlemaine roads. Ashe (1954, 10) noted a Man-made underground passage (KE044-118001-) in the interior, but the only feature now visible is a rectangular area, 5.5m x 4.7m, enclosed to S and E by stones and to N by a low mound of earth and stones.
