Knocknanacree ridge still casts its shadow across the gentle NE facing slope where a rough circular rath holds a tiny 3.5m square stone band open to the south. Inside that small chamber sits a 2.5m wide depression, perhaps a hearth or storage pit used by people whose names vanished before written history began. The hut feels less like a monument than a forgotten room, waiting in undulating pastureland for someone to imagine the heat, noise and daily life that once filled it.

Roughly circular univallate rath KE044-125---- is situated on a gentle NE facing slope, in undulating pastureland at the foot of the Knocknanacree ridge. A possible hut site (KE044-125001-) occupies the centre of the enclosure. It consists of a band of small stones enclosing an area 3.5m square and open to S. The only other feature visible in the interior is a depression in the NW sector which measures 2.5m in diameter and .5m in depth. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
