Man-made underground passage in Grange Irish

Situated on a slight E-facing slope, and discovered while trench-cutting in 2001. It consists of an entrance passage (L c. 12.6m, Wth c. 0.9m; H 1.1m) running S and curving E, with a drop-hole c. 1.5m before the E end of the entrance passage. The drop-hole gives access to another passage (L c. 9.7m) extending E, which leads to a beehive chamber (diam. 2.5m, H 2.1m). The walls are of drystone construction and are capped with lintels.
