Closed passage at An Chathairín: the opening was sealed to keep cattle from falling in. The name and a possible older wall beneath the present one suggest a cashel, not a ordinary rath. That much is local fact; the shape and purpose of the passage remain unrecorded.

An Chathairín: KE035-017---- A shallow depression, near the WNW edge of the platform, marks the location of a Man-made underground passage which was closed up to prevent injury to cattle (local information). The name of the site and the possible remains of an earlier wall beneath the present one suggest that this site was a cashel rather than a rath. The above description is derived from J.
