What is recorded here

Death and darkness are mentioned in local story, but no clear facts support that claim. What is known is a man-made underground passage beside a semi-circular enclosure on a slope above Brandon Bay. It has not been seen within living memory, which means the passage may still exist beneath soil, grass or forgotten path. A place can disappear from human sight and remain intact under it.
Semi-circular enclosure KE035-016---- is situated on a N facing slope overlooking Brandon Bay. There is a local tradition of a Man-made underground passage (KE035-016001-) here but it has not been visible within living memory. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 449. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
