Man-made underground passage in Gneeves (muskerry West By.)

Broker (1937, 54) recorded a Man-made underground passage in Mrs. Hanna Credon's land in 'Paircin Sheain a roha'. It was 'walled on both sides and flagged overhead. 3 or 4 rooms in succession....closed about 1900' (ibid.). Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
