Located on high ground in an upland area. A Man-made underground passage discovered by a local farmer in the early 1950s. The site was visited by National Museum staff (NMI file) who described the Man-made underground passage as an L-Plan lintelled roofed passage with drystone side walls (L 5m; H 0.7m approx.; Wth 0.5-0.8m) found approximately 0.3m below ground surface. Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
