Man-made underground passage in Ballyboggan (graigabbey Ed) — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Ballyboggan holds a narrow stone throat that men forgot until a steel shed broke the pasture in 2004. The passage runs five metres east, then turns north without apology, still wearing its drystone walls beneath removed lintels. It is not a tomb in the facts given, though children were buried nearby when the house first rose. More likely it is a drain, a hiding place, or a road built for one person who never returned to mark it.

In rough pastureland. This Man-made underground passage came to light in 2004 when the ground was being levelled in advance of the erection a steel shed to the SE of an existing house. During the course of the work, a narrow roof lintel was removed leaving a gap (L 1.4m; Wth 0.4m), which although inaccessible, enabled a visual inspection. It appeared that the Man-made underground passage ran c. 5m to the E from the gap, before turning sharply to the N. Drystone side-walling was visible under the roof lintels. Evidence of a children's burial ground (see GA084-139----) was revealed when the house was constructed in the late 1970s.
