What is recorded here
Allardstown holds a man-made underground passage, remembered locally as a cave rather than a natural wonder. That small distinction matters: someone dug, cut or shaped the earth there, perhaps to hide, store or escape. The exact purpose has faded, but the act remains visible in the shape of the place.
Local tradition of a 'cave' here (SMR file).
