Lough Rynn House is a substantial Tudor Revival country house built in 1832 within a large Leitrim estate that still contains stables, walled gardens, a boathouse, lodges and estate cottages. William Burn designed the original block, while Sir Thomas Drew extended it eastward in 1889, adding floor-to-ceiling stained glass and a carved entrance bearing the word Salve. The house stands less like a lonely castle than like the heart of a working landscape, where gardens, roads and smaller buildings still orbit it.
