Ruin of three-stage former windmill, built c.1750, and consolidated c.1990. Stone in door reveal inscribed 'Sep 1818 IN'. Located on an elevated site near Mount Talbot. Site enclosed by stone wall with modern name plaque.
The remains of Loobinroe windmill survive as a reminder of the industrial heritage of the area. Windmills were once commonly used to harness the natural energy provided by the wind to assist milling. Located on an elevated site, the structure has commanding views of the surrounding countryside.
