A named place photographed at this map point in Cornwall.
Lizard Lighthouse fog-horn was an important navigational aid first installed in the 19th century to warn ships of the dangerous Lizard Peninsula coastline. It was connected to the Lizard Lighthouse, one of the oldest in the UK, and played a key role in maritime safety in one of the most treacherous areas of the English Channel.
