Freestanding wrought iron gas lamp standard, c.1900. Road fronted on concrete footpath.
Representing an early artefact of iron ware a lamp standard of simple design aesthetic forming an appealing, if subtle feature in the street scene survives as a reminder of the services put in place to light streets using gas in the period before electrification.
